[private]Module 4 – The Definition of numbers 7-9

Continuing our discussion of the numbers, we will continue with the depth of human experience as indicated in the numbers below with spiritual awareness (7), material accomplishment (8) and selflessness (9):

  1. represents creation and self
  2. represents gestation and of union with others
  3. represents self-expression
  4. represents self-discipline
  5. represents recreation and change
  6. represents social awareness
  7. represents spiritual awareness, and intellectual development (creativity)
  8. represents material accomplishment
  9. represents selflessness and humanitarian kindness

The Seven (7).
Seven is the perfection of humankind. This number represents the day that God rested when creating the universe. Considered the most sacred number by Pythagoras it is seen as mastery, perfection and the union of matter (the 4) with spirit (3) creating the spiritual evolution and transformation in humankind. Often associated with the divine, royalty, honor and triumph reached by researching, and understanding the meaning behind all things. The 7th card of the Tarot is the Chariot: a symbol of spiritual awareness and success (if patience is employed).

Positive traits of 7 Spiritual, mystic, introspective, creative, artistic, reserved, analytical, intelligent, quiet.

Negative traits of 7 Impractical, lonely, critical, withdrawn, calculating, moody, shy, withdrawn.

Combinations with other numbers: 7 brings change and vacillation. 7 is not a good match with 1, it works well with 2. 7 can find itself more outgoing with the 3, and does very well with the 4. Agrees equally with the 6, and pretty good with 8 and 9. It does not have anything in common with the 8. 7 gets along best with 4.

*note this is different from what other numerologists may indicate. An in-depth study of the symbolism of the planets, numbers, tarot and other aspects have proven to me that the correct planetary order is: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Earth, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, Neptune, 12th Planet.

The Eight (8).
Eight is the manifestation of humankind. A karmic number, 8 is associated with judgement and material things, especially financial and the power struggle that can occur while trying to achieve success. It is representative of wisdom realized in the conscious mind, and may indicate a background in teaching, or a desire to teach others. The karmic force of 8 cannot be matched. It may indicate that it is time for karmic debts to be paid (especially those associated with karmic numbers such as 13, 14, 16 and 19). The 8th card of the Tarot is Justice and this is an excellent symbol for the changing ethics and strong will of the 8.

Positive traits of 8 Strong, efficient, ambitious, discriminating, assertive, prosperous, balanced.

Negative traits of 8 Materialistic, egotistical, power-hungry, intolerant, crude, undisciplined.

Other Corresponding Traits
Numbers: 17, 26, 35, 44, 53, 62, 71, 80, 89, 98, 107

: Rose Quartz, Diamond
Herbs & Plants: Dahlia, Pine, Rhododendron, Jasmine, Begonia
Musical Note: C
Planet: Saturn
Months: August
Birthdays: 8, 17, 26
Symbols: Hourglass, balance scales
Combinations with other numbers: 8 tries to find balance in all meetings. With 1 there may be a challenge of wills. With 2 there are minor challenges, with 3 there is acceptance, with 4 power struggles arise. With 5 there are too many egos involved. With 6 there is a great compatibility. With another 8 there are too many striving to find success, with 9 the compatibility is mutual. 8 gets along best with 6.

The Nine (9).
Nine is the completion of humankind. It is the number of achievement and completion. While some numerologic systems end in 8 (Greek and Chaldean for example) there is very good reason that the system continues to at least 9 (later we will look at a system that continues to 12). With an element of fire and a symbol of universal love the 9 is a number that seeks to encompass universal love. The 9 is the number of imagination, intuition and empathy for others. It demands a humanitarian kindness in all respects, and it seeks to love everything around it. Wisdom, illumination, cosmic awareness and initiation are the key traits of the 9. The 9th card of the Tarot is the Hermit, a symbol of loneliness, and of knowledge. While many attribute grief and imperfection to this number, it is only through a loss of some kind that the greatest love can be known. The 9 is a fickle number crossing the boundaries of all knowledge leading to truth, loss and good fortune, or loss.

Positive traits of 9 Intelligent, exciting, creative, spiritual, curious, giving, generous, compassionate, brave, tolerating.

Negative traits of 9 Bitter, bigoted, over-emotional, lonely, wasteful, unconcerned.

Other Corresponding Traits
Numbers: 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, 90, 99, 108

: Opal
Herbs & Plants: Oak, Sycamore, Holly, Magnolia
Musical Note: D

Months: August
Birthdays: 9, 18, 27
Symbols: The Ennead (showing all 9 numbers)
Combinations with other numbers: 9 gets along best with 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9. With all of these numbers it is compatible, caring and accepting. With 1 it is willing to pitch in, with 2 a willing partner, and with 3 able to explore artistic venues. There may be no better compatibility than the 9 with 6, where two caring and loving numbers work together to achieve greater things. With the 9 it cannot help but do good things. With 4 and 5 it is accepting and helpful, and with 7 it finds a compatible spiritual partner. With 8 help is given when asked. 9 gets along best with 6. Of all the numbers, the 9 is the most compatible with each of the others.
